Wayne P. Farr

Wayne P. Farr, 83, of Marathon, NY, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at the Guthrie Cortland Regional Medical Center, Cortland, NY.

Wayne was born in Cortland, NY, on January 1, 1940, the son of the late Louis and Emma Halstrom Farr.  A lifelong resident of the area, he was a member of the First Baptist Church of Marathon.  He retired from Marathon Central School in 1991 after 20 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Roberta Funnelle Farr; and their children, Timothy (Amy) Farr of Marathon and Robin Farr of Cortland.  He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Kelsea, Kalea, Kassandra, and Ashley; and seven great-grandchildren (with another on the way).

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Norman Farr.

A Celebration of Wayne’s Life will be held at the First Baptist Church of Marathon on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Tom Boice officiating.
