Sallie Ann Soshinsky, 60, of McGraw, NY, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at Upstate University Hospital, Syracuse, NY, after a kiss from her husband, with her family at her side.
Sallie was born in Cortland, NY, on January 29, 1960, the daughter of the late Robert and Sally (Falso) Gerrard. A lifetime resident of the area, she had previously been employed at McGraw Box Company and retired from Cooper Tools. She was a former member of the B.P.O.E., Cortland. She loved country music and, in her younger years, enjoyed spending time at the Cortland Country Music Park. She was an avid bowler and loved going to the Turning Stone Casino where she could be found playing bingo. Even on days she didn’t win, she always made sure to tell her daughters that she felt like a winner by having them in her life. A loving companion of 44 years and devoted mother of two beautiful daughters, who was well-known for her apple pie and pumpkin roll, she will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Sallie was a unique and caring individual who will always be worshiped as a saint by her family and close friends. She touched the lives of so many people; the legacy she has left behind is like no other.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, John Soshinsky, of McGraw; a daughter, Betsy (Bud Dixson) Soshinsky of McGraw; two precious twin boys, Madox and Mathew; and a daughter, Lisa Marie Soshinsky of McGraw. She also leaves behind a brother, Daniel (Susan) Gerrard of Glen Aubry; a sister, Phoebe (Mark) Piech of Lisle; a half-brother, Steven Soper; a half-sister, Stephanie (Kevin) Dean of Coventry; a sister-in-law, Charlene Seaman of FL; brothers—in-law, Gary Soshinsky of Cortland and Gregory Soshinsky of McGraw; aunts, Sandy Smith and Shirley (James) Burk of Marathon; an uncle, Carmen (Barbara) Falso of McGraw; great aunts, Mary Falso and Marjorie Baldassare; a special cousin Vicky (Ed) Falso; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Robert Gerrard; grandparents, Dominick and Virginia (Barnes) Falso, and Daniel and Anna Belle Gerrard Merzke; and her mother-in-law, Hazel Soshinsky Berean.
