Phyllis A. (Sickmon) Hulett, 93, of Marathon, NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at the Groton Community Health Care Center, Groton, NY.

Born in the Town of Freetown, Phyllis was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Thelma Edwards Sickmon. Phyllis found joy in various hobbies and interests. An accomplished seamstress, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and quilting, creating beautiful pieces that reflected her creativity and dedication. Phyllis was also known for her delicious baked goods, many of which she generously contributed to church fundraisers, the Marathon Maple Festival, and the 1890's Celebration. In addition to her home crafts, she was a member of the Seven Valley Roll-Away Square Dancers Club and had previously served as a member of the Marathon Chapter Order of the Eastern Star.

Phyllis was a devoted mother to her daughter, Nancy Lewis of Marathon. She took immense pride in her role as a grandmother to three grandchildren, as well as a great-grandmother to four and a great-great-grandmother to one. Her family was a central part of her life, and she enjoyed nurturing and supporting them through every stage.

In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Daniel Hulett, who passed away on July 16, 2012, and her brother, Richard Sickmon.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no services. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Phyllis may be directed to the Cortland County SPCA, 879 McLean Road, Cortland, NY 13045.
