Pamela Ann Montanye-Mielke, 74, of Marathon, NY, lost her battle with cancer after eleven years and has gone home to be with the Lord. No matter how bad things were she always had a smile for everyone.
Pamela was born in Middletown, NY, on September 11, 1949, the daughter of the late Clarence and Elvira Woodmansee Montanye. A long-time resident of the area, she attended the Killawog Baptist Church. Aside from being a dedicated wife and mother, Pamela loved raising Dachshunds along with creating many different crafts like spinning the wool from their sheep and making gifts on her loom, knitting, and crocheting. She was also a proud member of the D.A.R., Tuskarora Chapter, Binghamton, NY.
She is survived by her husband of forty years, William A. Mielke, Jr., along with her three children: Jason V. Montanye, Dana M. Lord, and Vanessa M. Mielke-Vincent. She is also survived by her four grandchildren: Kadem and Hailey Montanye, Dallas Mielke, and Roland Vincent.
Funeral services will be held at the Marathon Memorial Chapel, 4071, State Route 221, Marathon, NY, on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Tom Miller officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 4:00 p.m. An additional funeral service will be held at the Circleville Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 890 Goshen Highway, Circleville, NY at a time to be announced. Burial will be in Wallkill Cemetery, Middletown, NY. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Pamela may be directed to DAR Office of Development, P.O.
