Joan M. White

Joan M. (Corwin) White, 93, of Marathon, NY, went to be with her Lord on Friday, January 29, 2022, at the Guthrie Cortland Regional Medical Center, Cortland, NY. 

Mrs. White was born in Endicott, NY, on January 24, 1929, the daughter of the late Leslie and Leola Ruth Somers Corwin.  She retired from Key Bank in Greene, NY, after several years of service.  Mrs. White was a member of the North Fenton Bible Chapel and a devote born-again Christian who loved to sing and read and knew her bible very well.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Marlin "Rudy" White; and her children, Marlin "Curtis" (Amy) White of Marathon, Marlene (Brian) Schwingel of Horseheads, and Jefferson (Kathleen) White of Newark Valley.  She also leaves behind seven grandchldren and one great-grandson; siblings, Eleanor Allen of Indiana, Robert (Peg) Corwin of Endicott, and Jim (Jill) Corwin of Shippensburg, PA; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predecesed by a brother, Allen Corwin.

A Message of Salvation will be delivered by Pastor Rodney Kochmanski at the Marathon Memorial Chapel, 4071 State Route 221, Marathon, NY, on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at 11:00 a.m.  There will be no prior calling hours.  Burial in Marathon Cemetery will immediately follow the message.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mrs. White may be directed to the North Fenton Baptist Chapel, 130 Porter Hollow Road, Port Crane, NY 13833.
