Bonnie J. Dougherty

Bonnie J. (Marshall) Dougherty, 79, of Marathon (Lapeer), NY, passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021, at the Cayuga Medical Center, Ithaca, NY, while surrounded by her family.

Bonnie was born in Cortland, NY, on January 27, 1942, the daughter of the late Louis and Fern Turk Marshall. She was a loud and proud Cherokee Indian. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Cortland. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed at Gregg’s Big M and Square Deal. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she will be dearly missed by her family.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert Dougherty; and her children, Vickie (Brett) McGowan of Marathon, Robert (Tracy) Dougherty, Jr. of Virgil, and William (Shaye) Dougherty of Marathon. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Larry (Gerry) Marshall of Cortland; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by several siblings.
