Betsy Bregard, 81, of Marathon, NY, passed away peacefully at her home on September 1, 2024, while surrounded by her loving family. She was a remarkable woman whose life was a testament to the love and devotion to her family.
Betsy was born in Cortland, NY, on June 24, 1943, the daughter of the late H. Burgess Jones and Vera (Stanley) Jones. Prior to her retirement in 2013, she had worked as an administrative assistant at TC3. Her work ethic and dedication were hallmarks of her character. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Betsy was a deeply caring individual who cherished her role as a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is remembered as a compassionate and loving figure whose family meant everything to her.
Betsy is survived by her children, Barbara Ackley of Homer, Brian (Jenny) Ackley of Manlius, Lisa (Glenn) O'Loughlin of Lisle, and Pam (Joel Rice) Ross of Cincinnatus, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betsy’s loving spirit will continue to be felt by her family and friends.
Betsy was preceded in death by her husband, William Bregard, and her siblings Dorothea Jones, Marie Dedrick, Harold Jones, Shirley Nadge, Howard Jones and David Jones.
The memory of Betsy will be honored with a visitation held at Marathon Presbyterian Church on Monday, September 9, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Douglas Hatch officiating. Burial will be in Marathon Cemetery.
Betsy Bregard leaves behind a legacy of love that will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but forever held close in the hearts of her family and friends.
