A. Marilyn Liddington

A. Marilyn White Liddington, 93, of Marathon, NY, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, August 31, 2023.

Born in Cincinnatus, NY, on September 29, 1929, Marilyn was the daughter of the late Marlin and Susanne Parker White.  A lifelong resident of the area and Marathon High School graduate, she graduated from Binghamton General’s School of Nursing and served Cortland County residents for over 50 years working as a county nurse, at the Cortland Regional Medical Center, and eventually retiring from the Cortland City School District.  Marilyn was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 75 years. 

She is survived by her children, John (Dawn) Liddington of Jordan, NY, Jeffrey (Mary) Liddington of Basalt, CO, Jaime (Shira) Liddington of Marathon, Jay (Mary) Liddington of Tully, and Jackie Liddington (Greg) of Cub Run, KY.  She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Jennifer, Jasmine, Eric, Brett, Celeste, and Charlene; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Rudy, Harold, Connie, Martha, Margery, and Susie; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Harry J. Liddington.

A graveside service for Marilyn will be held at the Parker Street Cemetery, Lapeer, on Monday, September 11, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Douglas Hatch officiating.  There will be no prior calling hours or service.  Immediately following the graveside service, all well-wishers are invited to join the family at the Marathon Presbyterian Church.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Marilyn may be made to the Marathon Presbyterian Church, 3 E.
